Is This Guy Smoking Crack?

In a really weird rant, the Cultural Advisor to Iranian Education Ministry trots out the old, repulsive, Jew / rodent comparison, this time comparing Jews to Jerry Mouse from Tom and Jerry
"Read the history of the Jews in Europe. This ultimately led to Hitler's hatred and resentment. As it turns out, Hitler had behind-the-scenes connections with the Protocols [of the Elders of Zion ].
"Tom and Jerry was made in order to display the exact opposite image. If you happen to watch this cartoon tomorrow, bear in mind the points I have just raised, and watch it from this perspective. The mouse is very clever and smart. Everything he does is so cute. He kicks the poor cat's ass. Yet this cruelty does not make you despise the mouse. He looks so nice, and he is so clever... This is exactly why some say it was meant to erase this image of mice from the minds of European children, and to show that the mouse is not dirty and has these traits. Unfortunately, we have many such cases in Hollywood shows."

Hasan, buddy, let me clue you in on something here. Jerry kicks Tom's ass because Tom is trying to kill him. So, lets accept your little Jew / Jerry analogy. Tom could have a perfectly lovely life. With the time and effort he puts into trying to kill the mouse, he could easily go to the grocery store, buy himself some catfood, and have plenty left over for a stash of catnip. But does he? No. Instead he's got to be moron and put all of his time and effort into killing the mouse who procedes to kick his ass. If Tom had a clue, he'd realize this and say "Screw the mouse. I'd rather have my catfood and catnip." Most of us in the Western world root for Jerry because we realize this and have decided that Tom getting his ass kicked is sort of a Darwinian imperative.
